Human Resource Executive

EREC Estates specialises in Alternative Property investment, development and management particularly in the Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) sector. The China-UK joint venture created the student accommodation brand UNINN® in 2016, and has grown rapidly to establish 8 assets in Coventry, Leicester, Newcastle and Sheffield. Currently operating over 1300 beds as a highly reputable bespoke student accommodation, supplying not only high grade secured accommodation but also a modern lifestyle and social support.

We are now having an exciting opportunity for an experienced Human Resources professional to join our team to suit the needs of the company’s growth. The successful candidate will be the enabler for development and success for all members of staff, promoting the company’s overall strategic development objectives

Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Advertising vacancies on job boards and liaising with external recruitment agencies.

  • Conducing initial telephone/online interviews and arranging interviews for face to face meetings with managers.

  • Preparing contracts of employment and offer letters.

  • Resolving colleague queries as and when they arise.

  • Onboarding of new employees prior to start date including all documentation and coordinate induction itinerary.

  • Liaising with immigration lawyers and assisting working visa/permit application for members of staff

  • Maintaining colleague personnel records ensuring that right to work documents are obtained to ensure legal compliance.

  • Updating company documents i.e. structure charts, trackers.

  • Coordinate payroll amendments on a monthly basis with our accountants

  • Collating & updating HR records, (sickness, holidays, training, pensions, employee vehicle, driving licence and vehicle insurance details).

  • Liaise with external HR Support service provider.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience as an HR administrator in an office environment.

  • Experience of providing excellent customer service.

  • A team player and the ability to work with people of all working styles, backgrounds, experience, etc.

  • Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

  • High levels of integrity and discretion as the role will see lots of confidential information.

  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills and attention to detail.

  • Able to take a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the needs of the organisation.

  • Eagerness to learn and develop and willing to go the extra mile.

  • Reliable and approachable.

  • Knowledge of employment law in both UK and China preferred.

  • Fluent in English, an extra language such as mandarin will be a bonus.
